Award Winning Katrina Recovery
By: Adam Mistick - Feb 13, 2007
Church Restoration Group has been selected as winner of an Award of Merit for Excellence in Construction from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Western Pennsylvania for the restoration of the St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church in New Orleans, LA.
St. Charles incurred heavy wind and water damage during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The restoration process involved relocation of a pipe organ, specialized plasterwork, stenciling, faux finish painting, and replacement of decorative ceiling panels.
Church Restoration Group was asked to take on the project in light of their reputation for excellence in restoring historic and sacred properties, especially in the context of disaster recovery.
Church Restoration President David Mistick will be presented with the award during a dinner at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriot on March 17, 2007. This will be Church Restoration Group’s fourth award from ABC since 2001.
