CRG AWARDED EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION AWARD FOR FIRE RESTORATION AT ST THERESA OF AVILA

Church Restoration Group, LLC (CRG), a local Pittsburgh area based disaster restoration, construction and consulting company, was chosen by a panel of architects and engineers through the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Western Pennsylvania Chapter for the 2008 Excellence in Construction Award - Specialty Contractor.
The judge’s comments included:
“Not all awards go the multi-million dollar projects; some of the seemingly smallest show the highest level of care and sensitivity. When a catastrophe sets upon a building, often alternate accommodations are possible; not so with this project. Church Restoration Group successfully administered work schedules and activities while allowing users to have access to the building.”
Church Restoration Group (CRG) was notified by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and Catholic Mutual Group, the insurance carrier, the day after the fire at St Theresa of Avila in New Orleans. Within hours of being contacted, CRG had crews working onsite to immediately mitigate any further damages, assess the existing damage and create an action plan to get the church cleaned, repaired and fully restored before Easter Sunday services. CRG’s scheduling also allowed the church to serve mass twice a day, every day including the regularly scheduled Sunday masses. Despite the unique work schedule, the crew was able to coordinate around the masses and still deliver the completed church by March 14, the Friday before Palm Sunday. The duration of the project was only 29 working days.
