Church Restoration Group received a call from an owner of a residence at Park Mansion in Pittsburgh. Referred by her insurance agent, the homeowner was requesting an immediate on site inspection of the damages caused from a fire that was inadvertently set in a non-working fireplace on synthetic decorative logs.
The loss is extremely unique for a number of factors including:
- The entire home held a museum quality art collection that is scheduled to be donated to a local museum in the future
- Daily, all day, on-site supervision from CRG management team
- The extinguishing agent (dry chemical) contaminated the entire house including all art objects and surface materials including terrazzo floors, marble floors and fireplace surrounds, hardwood floors and oriental carpets
- CRG's Art Conservation team worked with the museum’s appointed conservator in cleaning and examining various art pieces throughout the house
- Careful coordination of equipment and access to the property
CRG worked closely with the homeowner throughout the entire project including the repairs following the emergency services.
