Client: Church of the Assumption
Location: Bellvue, PA

The Church of the Assumption planned a major interior refinishing project to follow its capital campaign. While the scope of the project was very large, it was complicated by the fact that The Church of the Assumption is one of largest parishes within the Diocese of Pittsburgh, and still supports a parochial school.

Church Restoration Group’s technicians and artists would be competing for time and space with two daily worship services and an additional 4-7 on the weekends, all while completing a head-to-toe renovation of all plaster, hard wood, and marble surfaces.

Church Restoration Group was able to operate in this environment by creating scaffolding and enclosure systems that let them approach the work in sections, so that the needs of the church could be accommodated on an ongoing basis without interrupting Sunday services, funerals, and children’s worship.

Removing years of surface dirt, the company’s craftsmen and artisans:

• chemically dry-cleaned walls and ceilings
• hand washed all paintings and stencils
•restored the Stations of the Cross & 50 stained glass windows
•rehabilitated chandeliers
